Patrick's Birthday
Blimey, 75 years old. My birthday lasted a week ... and I had lots of fun things to do.
On Tuesday, Wiliam came to stay. We went to The Railway Inn in Sandford. With him, he brought a table he no longer needs which he borrowed from my parents in 1970!
On Wednesday, William & I went to WSM to see See Monster and he dropped me at the station. From there I went to East Molesey (by a convoluted route) to stay with Lee & Sophie. On the way I walked around Warminster - somewhere I have never been before (as far as I can remember) and am unlikely to ever visit again!
On Thursday, Lee and I went to the Motor Show at Farnborough, and then we all went to Marney's Village Inn in Esher.
On Friday, we drove to WSM, visited See Monster and arrived at Sandford Station. We all went to the Chattanooga in the evening.
On Saturday we went to the (posh) Monthly Market in Winscombe and bought some delicious (and reassuringly expensive) Bath Cheese. In the afternoon, I collected Margaret and we went to an open garden in Sandford (in aid of Weston Hospice). It is owned by the Rev Ann Ogram and her husband, Douglas. She stands in for Christine at Sandford Station sometimes for services. We returned via the station to have ice-creams, before taking Margaret home. In the evening, we went to The Swan in Rowberrow and my friend from Wrington, Val, joined us.
On Sunday, we (including Martha) were up early. We went to Cornwall for a day trip on The Royal Duchy and a walk around Fowey.
On Monday, I opened my cards and presents after which, Lee & Sophie departed. At Musical Memories, they sang Happy Birthday to me and in the evening, with Dave & Diane, we went to The Woodborough in Winscombe.
That wasn't quite the end of it, 'cos on Tuesday evening, a large posse of residents came and joined me on a beautiful warm evening outside the bowling pavilion for a few drinks.
Next 'significant' birthday in 2027!! Will I make it?
