Light Fantastic

First, there was, as you will have seen in earlier months, another Outernet displays by Tottenham Court station.

I bought myself a ticket for 'LIFE by Luxmuralis at St Martin-in-the-Fields'. I wandered down Charing Cross Road past the bookshops and guitar shops. Marvelously crowded with visitors. I queued outside for about 15 minutes before entering. Well, I really liked it - two parts - first in the crypt and then in the main church. A continuous show projected on the interior. Insects, birds, animals and sealife with a suitable soundtrack. Was it worth nearly £20 (including a mandatory £3.50 booking fee)? Well, for me it was but I wouldn’t bother again.
In Bristol, I went to The Bristol Light Festival. As I haven't much of a clue about the geography of the city, I booked myself on a walking tour. I cycled to Congresbury, left my bike with Vera, caught the bus, did the tour, bussed back and cycled home after having a coffee with Vera. No, I didn't meet a soul on the Strawberry Line!
There were eleven installations to visit and I went to all but one. What a brilliant night out!
The Tour was a good move for, as well as being interesting and well led by a Blue Badge guide, it skipped a queue into Ascendance and included a 'free' drink at 'Left Handed Giant'.
In case you are wondering, 'Ascendance' was my favourite - similar in many ways to LIFE - not as vividly colourful but a really earie, ethereal experience. Will I go again? Probably.
