Most of July, it rained and rained. Europe burnt to a frazzle or was flooded and absolutely nobody shot Putin, which is a great pity.
At long last the farmer across the Strawberry Line was able to make hay (while the sun didn't shine). That was July 5th.
Four of us went to Wells - the first time I have visited since the demise of the 126 bus from outside our gate. We went on WESTLink to Axbridge and, on the filthy wet day it was, had hot chocolate in The Almshouse Tea Shop and then caught ...
... the 126, which is a Somerset only bus between Axbridge and Wells. It was well populated, I am glad to say. We had lunch in Rugantino (recommended) and wandered around in the rain. This was taken in famous Vicar's Close.
Swans on the moat around The Bishop's Palace Gardens.
And back to Axbridge to change to WESTLink.
Home again. Travel really successful and, despite the weather, a delight to be back in Wells.
Occasionally, there was a blue sky between the downpours!
Belinda, Yogi and Jeanette. It is ...
... Jeanette who creates the flower arrangements for Ashmead.
2023 - A significant gardening improvement. Display on the Station this year.
And some hanging baskets outside Sherwood.
More of Jeanette's handiwork.
Not to be outdone, Shelagh grew one of these!
The Strawberry Line Sandford Link looked ready to open (apart from clearing the weeds). It was due to reopen this month, but nothing has happened.
Our croquet lawn looks, sort-of, playable. We need a resident volunteer to run this activity - NOT me!
This is Boris who has decided the whole Village and Care Home is his domain.
Yogi in the Orangery. He has decided that Boris is to be barked at. Boris takes absolutely no notice, as you would expect!
